About us

BorTec GmbH & Co. KG is an innovative business company with ist roots going back to the prime traditions of the German Chemical Industry. 

Right from the start we focused on the use of boron as means of wear protection of steels within mechanical and plant engineering. By diffusing boron into the steel surface a wear protection method known as Borodur® procedure, was developed. The compounds used to carry out this procedure were developed by BorTec and are globally distributed under the name of EKabor® boronizing agents. 

Two business segments resulted in this:

• The wear protection treatment of clients` parts by boronizing with aid of the Borodur procedure and
• The production and sale of EKabor® boronizing agents

Above all we are able to revert to our extensive know-how in material engineering and our well-equipped material test laboratory where advice and help with questions regarding developing techniques is needed.
